Stoneware advertising jug made and stamped by "James Ryan, Pittston, Pa." Ryan potted in Pittston from 1888 into the 1890s (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , p. 88). This jug was made for "Constines, W-Barre, PA." This beauty features the makers stamp and Stenciled Advertising. Approx 11" tall with a base diameterof approx 6.5". Overall condition is good with only minor issues. There is a tight hairline running from the bottom of the lip down the shoulder on both sides (shown in photos 9 & 10). Photos 11 and 12 shows some rough areas that all appear to have been done in the making. It looks like the glaze missed a few small spots as well
